This project will include the design of a new bridge over Big Creek to replace the existing vehicular and pedestrian bridges and of a 10'' wide multi-use trail with a 6'' wide planting strip along Webb Bridge Road from east of North Point Parkway to the Big Creek Greenway culvert under Webb Bridge Road. Street trees and pedestrian lighting will be provided along the shoulders. The design will seek to preserve the existing streetscape along the frontage of East Gate Subdivision. The new bridge will provide two 10.5'' travel lanes, header curb, 2'' separation (stamped concrete or concrete pavers) and a 10'' multi-use trail. Bike accommodations will be provided on the roadway from east of North Point Parkway to west of the proposed new bridge over Big Creek. At that point, bicyclists will be merged onto the multi-use trails. Refined concept plans and decision matrix were submitted on February 15, 2021. The design team was given direction to move forward with the "Alternate 3" concept based on this information.

The project consists of widening Kimball Bridge Road between Verizon and Georgia Power driveways, on the west side of North Point Parkway, to provide a 4-lane section with appropriate pedestrian and bicycle facilities.
Design, right-of-way and construction costs are estimated at $2 million and would be part of a future funding request.
This improvement is on the approved TSPLOST 2 project list and funding may be available through TSPLOST 2 proceeds if revenue trends highlight collections in excess of what is needed to fund the currently appropriated TSPLOST 2 projects (Tier-1).

Improved traffic flow and safety benefits are potential advantages of a roundabout compared to the existing traffic signal at this location.
Since this project is a Tier 3 Project in the TSPLSOT Program, projects in Tier 1 are accomplished first prior to moving onto Tier 2 or 3 projects, unless there is a re-allocation of funds or revenue collected permits moving onto the other tiers.

The project consists of ôdeep patchingö (mill & inlay) repair of various roads as outlined in the bid packet. All milling quantities are based on the use of a 4Æ wide milling head. All patching asphalt quantities are based on an average depth of 3.5ö of asphalt binder. Precise locations have not been determined but will be marked in conjunction with Contractor prior to commencement of actual work. The tonnage shown for each road is an estimate and may be adjusted as required to match field conditions.
